Even if you are self-funding your care, you may still be entitled to some State assistance towards the costs. You may also need to understand the financial products specifically designed to meet care costs and preserve capital as far as possible. |

Nursing Homes are live-in accomodation which provide medical care.
Residential Homes are live-in accomodation which do not provide medical care. Personal assistance may be given, which can include washing and dressing.
Domiciliary Care Agencies (also known as home care) provide practical and emotional support for people in their own homes, which enables them to go on living in the community.
