  Nursing Homes are live-in accommodation which provide medical care.

  Residential Homes are live-in accommodation which do not provide medical care. Personal assistance may be given, which can include washing and dressing.

  Domiciliary Care Agencies (also known as home care) provide practical and emotional support for people in their own homes, which enables them to go on living in the community.

  Information may be available from your county council website. Right Care Index has provided links to care homes and home care sections of council websites on relevant pages.
